Youth Strings Rehearsals

The Youth Strings rehearse Saturday mornings from September to May at Gordon Bell High School from 9:15 a.m. to 12:00 noon. For further information about the YS, please contact the conductor Karin Klassen at ys@winnipegyouthorchestras.ca.

Youth Strings Auditions

Auditions for the Youth Strings will be held on Saturday April 25, 2015 at Gordon Bell High School.  Please contact the conductor to book your audition date and time.  To be eligible for the YS, a candidate should be in school grade three or higher with a minimum playing level of Grade 5 RCM or Book 3 Suzuki.

The audition will include the following:

• –  A piece of the candidate’s own choice of approximately 3 minutes

• –  A 2 or 3 octave scale of choice

• –  A sight-reading portion chosen by the conductor

Sign up sheets for the auditions will be available at the last few rehearsals of the season. A combination audition and registration form is available in PDF format. Please fill this form out and bring it to the audition with you; if you are auditioning for more than one of the orchestras, please bring a copy of the form to each.
